let's keep the focus
so .... a radical u.s. muslim group obliquely threatens to murder a couple of tv producers for making religious references the group doesn't like and the network backs off? cuts the 'offensive' material?
what country are we in, again? did they change something recently, like, you can have free speech as long as you don't insult muslims?
i don't watch this show and have always felt i would be offended by it. but a group saying the show should not say what it's going to say or they will come to a bad end? nah -- i can't go along with that. and the network caving in just gives them power. bad precedent.
a temper-tantrum is one thing, but threats of murder is terrorism. terrorism is unacceptable and if these people don't like the way we do things in this country, guess what.

where have i been?
did you know about hulu? i didn't. of course, i don't watch tv, but still -- i've never even heard of it.
hulu is an internet site where you can watch the latest installment of selected tv shows. yes, there are commercials, but they're limited to 30 seconds. wow! what a concept! anyhow, hulu's pretty cool for people who've missed their shows or don't even have a tv.
like i said, i don't watch tv so i don't really care, but, it's all about resources. build your resources!

the best
you probably know all about the commercials they had during the super bowl. i totally loved the one with the baby. and the bobble-head people. and the squirrel and the stain and the carrier pigeons.
the baby -- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6vW9gUmooFg
also, you can go to http://www.myspace.com/superbowlads# to watch any and all of them.
e*trade (the baby); diet pepsi max (wake up people); bridgestone (screaming squirrel); tide to go (talking stain); fedex (carrier pigeons)
too much fun!!!

and the walls came a tumblin' down
we've been watching this tv series called Jericho.
i don't watch tv so i'm not familiar with what's playing these days, but this show is pretty good. well, let me qualify that -- the acting is decent and the premise is compelling, but some of the little stories are dumb and several of the characters are awful. e.g. the guy who was challenging the incumbent mayor should be SHOT. he's a terrible person. and the teen-agers need to grow up. and the idiot irs agent is a stupid bitch. but other than that, the main family is easy to watch (except for the jerk who's married to the doctor), the girlfriends are okay, and the black guy seems okay except that he may be one of the bad guys. eeuuuuuw.
at any rate, the library doesn't have it so we are having to watch it cd by cd through netflix. it's a curious thing to get caught up in, but then really -- what would you do if all the main cities were nuked and you had to try to survive?
